Similar to vehicles there are specific railway applications where inertial measurement technology is used. Our clients usually integrate our GPS-aided inertial system ADMA into their complete system to  determine also other parameters, e.g. position of catenary wire.

Typical quantities to be measured are such as speed, tilt, velocity and position (trajectory) with an output rate up to 1000 Hz.

For the suppurt of navigation with GPS / GLONASS-shadowing, e.g. driving through tunnel, an odometer signal can be used. We also offer an offline processing software which performs a forward-backward calculation of kalman filter in order to achieve the optiml result of position.
